Valerie Hughes

My name is Valerie Hughes and I have been at Sitel for 13 years. I started November 6th, 2006, as an agent for an insurance company. I had never worked in a call center before, just retail and fashion, so this was definitely a new experience for me.

One thing I knew for sure, I did not want to be an agent forever. After about six months, I applied for the Coach Track Training Program, which is now called Coach Growth Point. Back then, we had to take an assessment before we could interview and I did not pass my assessment. I was disappointed at first, but growing up in a neighborhood where you are the only girl, kind of gives you a lot of strength and determination. So the next day, I came to work and started talking to my coach and other coaches and watching what they were doing daily. I also met with my Learning Manager and she gave me some courses to take and some books to read. Six months later, I applied again and I was promoted to CTT. In less than a month, I was offered a coach position on a new campaign. From that point on, I have coached on several campaigns, trained classes and now I am currently an Operations Manager. I have enjoyed my time here at Sitel and I have met some wonderful people who are so supportive and encouraging. We have a good time here at our site and I love how we work together.

I look forward to continuing to grow in the company and achieving so much more than I imagine. If you want a job that will help you move up in your career path, Sitel is the place to be.
